This excellent documentary tells the story of jazz through the happenings at one run-down Manhattan loft in the 1950s. It is the first film to use photographer W. Eugene Smith’s massive collection of photographs and audio tapes from the era. Featuring music and stories of the greats such as Thelonious Monk, Zoot Sims, Jimmy Giuffre, and Hall Overton. Dan Buskirk from WPRB Princeton will join the program for a post-screening Q&A.

This event is co-sponsored by the Princeton Public Library, Arts Council of Princeton, and the Garden Theatre with funding provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
