Auteur David Lynch’s follow-up to Blue Velvet is the surreal neo-noir WILD AT HEART. Two young rock ‘n’ rollers, Sailor and Lula, hit the road to escape Lula’s crazed mother who has hired a hitman to take out Sailor. Originally panned by critics, despite winning the Palme d’Or, Lynch combines elements of a Southern Gothic soap opera with his admiration for The Wizard of Oz and Elvis. Featuring offbeat performances from Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, and Willem Dafoe. Rated R.
