TCM writer Hannah Jack leads our monthly Deep Focus online seminars, aiming to build on the success of the conversations she has already brought to our community. While all of the talks will be about movies considered “classics”, they will range from the widely known and well-received to hidden gems whose critical reputation has changed over time.
Hannah Jack has been a writer for Turner Classic Movies for the past decade, scripting the hosted intros that air before the films on TCM. Hannah has also appeared on the network with TCM’s original host, Robert Osborne, and has written introductions for films presented on FilmStruck, HBO Max, and in theaters across the country as part of the TCM/Fathom Events Big Screen Classics series.

Hannah is also a tenured NYC public school teacher and continues to bring her film and teaching expertise to the Renew Theaters community, where her popular Deep Focus series on Classic Hollywood films is now in its sixth year. She frequently introduces classic movies at special screenings and festivals and has been a guest speaker at the TCM Classic Film Festival and on the TCM Classic Cruise.
